If printers are used intermittently then a buildup of ink can occur on the print heads which cannot be removed by the head wiper. Your printer incorporates a self-management system that will periodically eject a small amount of ink to prevent the phenomenon. These pads soak up the ejected ink and need to be periodically replaced. Replacement pads are included in the Head Cleaning Set (C13S210105) however if print volumes are particularly low then pads may need to be replaced more frequently.
